North Woods Holidays, Family Celebrations, Group Meetings:

Brindley's Harbor Resort is located near the end of a large forested peninsula that separates the main body of Leech Lake from Walker Bay. We are 15 miles by paved road from the lakeside town of Walker and it’s shops, restaurants and casino. Once ice conditions permit lake transit, usually early January, the ice road trip to Walker is a short 5 mile ride from Brindley's.

Dog Sled Rides:  For a unique winter experience, local musher Joel Kersting  is available to provide rides with his team of 14 Alaskan Huskies.  Leaving from Brindley's Lodge,  a 1 hour ride for 2 adults is $100.  Advance reservations are required.  Joel can be contacted directly at 218-244-1265.  His web page is www.sleddogmn.com.

Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing:  Itasca State Park (218-266-2100) has rental equipment and excellent groomed trails through it's majestic 200-300 year old pine forests.  Itasca Park is about an hours drive from Brindley's.  There are also nice trails in the Shingobee Recreation Area immediately southwest of Walker.

Christmas in the North Woods:  In season, Jean has the lodge shimmering with the lights and treasures of Christmas.  For Guests wishing to have their own cottage Christmas tree, we provide a cutting permit and guide you into the Chippewa National Forest to find your perfect spruce.  We have lights and decorations to help you create a memorable holiday in the ambiance of your “up-north” log home.

Snowmobiling:

Walker is the crossroads for 2 of Minnesota's most popular State Trail systems. The 50 mile Heartland Trial from Park Rapids to Cass Lake and the Paul Bunyan Trail which runs from Brainerd to Bemidji and beyond. At Cass Lake, 22 miles from Walker on the Heartland, is an intersection to the State's Soo Line Trail leading east to Grand Rapids.

In addition to the State Trail System there are hundreds of miles of groomed local trails winding through pristine State and National Forests. Numerous restaurants and service centers are accessible from the trail systems so guests can enjoy the amenities in a nice mix with a wilderness ride.  Brindley's has gasoline available for purchase.

Log Homes 16 and 17

Great Grey Owl

The winter of 2004/2005 we had Great Grey Owls living on the resort.  They hunt in daylight and were fun to watch crashing into the snow in search of prey.

Visiting guests have first option for the same lodging and (approximate) calendar dates the following year.  If a departing guest has not renewed a reservation the lodging unit is available to others.  Click on our " Availability Calendars" page to see current openings.  (Then click "Back" on your browser bar to return to this page). 

Oak Ridge House:  (maximum 10 people)

Our Oak Ridge House is a deluxe year 'round home well suited as a base for enjoying a north woods winter.  There is a full kitchen, 3 baths, 2 stone fireplaces, a dish washer, and  a clothes washer and drier on the lower level to deal with wet clothing.  Seven physical beds (plus hide-a-beds) per unit.  TV.  Click here on  Oak Ridge House  to see photos and a complete description.

Cottage "B":  (maximum 6 people)

We winterized our popular summer "Cottage B" for winter use in 1999.  It has a full kitchen and three bedrooms, (a queen bed in one bedroom and two twins each in the other bedrooms).  There is also a hide-bed-couch in the living room to bring the total sleep capacity to six.  There is a full bath and an additional 1/2 bath.   The interior is knotty pine and it has a Heat-N-Glo glass front stove to provide a warm glow to the cozy north woods ambiance.  TV, WiFi.  Click here on  Cottage B  to see photos and a complete description.

Luxury Log Homes "2 and 3":  (maximum 10 people per unit)

New in 2011.  Five bedrooms per unit.  May be rented as individual five bedroom units or a combined 10 bedroom complex.  Each unit features a fireplace, five baths, two dishwashers, two refrigerators, clothes washer/dryer, and many upscale amenities.  Nine physical beds per unit.  TV, WiFi.  Click here on  Log Homes 2 and 3  to see photos and a complete description.

Luxury Log Home "15":  (maximum 6 people)

New in  2002.  It has three spacious bedrooms plus a loft and will comfortably sleep 7.   It features a fireplace, 2 full baths, a luxury 2 person whirlpool, dishwasher, and many wonderful amenities.  In winter cottage 15 is reserved for non anglers only.  No Smoking.  Click here on  Cottage 15  to see photos and a complete description.

New in 2003.  Four bedrooms per unit.  May be rented as individual four bedroom units or a combined 8 bedroom complex.  Each unit features a fireplace, three baths, a luxury two person whirlpool, dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer, and many wonderful amenities.  Six physical beds per unit.  Winter Non angling - North Woods Holidays, Family Celebrations, Snowmobiling

$195.00 * per night - Cottage “B”
 $255.00 * per night – “Oak Ridge House” or Luxury Log Homes 2, 3, 15, 16, or 17 

  Plus tax – for up to 6 people.  Extra person charge of $35.00 per night per person

* ($75 per night extra charge for holidays and Eel Pout Festival).
December 23, 24    -    December 30 and 31    -    February 17 and 18.

Two night minimum.  Deposit per reservation is one nights rate.
  Storm cancellations - deposits applied to rescheduled winter reservations.
6.875% State Sales Tax and 3% Lodging Tax.  We accept personal checks, VISA & Master Card.
Telephone reservations held 7 days without deposit.  Deposits and reservations will be confirmed by mail.

Sorry - No Pets Allowed

All accommodations have lots of secure parking for vehicles and trailers.  Brindley's lodge, store, and game center are open all winter.  Snacks and beverages are available to compliment lively conversation.
